Wether your moving house, or just need a truck for work, one thing you can do to make it easier is to get a list of trucking companies in your local area. It can be a tough job when trying to choose the right trucking or moving company. You trust them with all your possessions and you want to make sure they handle them with care. You also want to make sure that the price is right. This is especially true if you have any usual items to move as they usually cost more. So how do you find a company that is cheap and can handle all your special items with care? Well the bets way to start is to make a list of all the trucking companies in your area.
Creating a list of trucking companies:
First you should open up an excel file to organise your list. This is not essential, if you don’t know how to use excel a simple pen and some paper will do. You should then organise them into columns with headings like; company name, phone number, price, and comments.
You then need to go through your local phone book and start creating a list of trucking companies that can help you move.
Once your list is completed you should go through and call each one to discover how much they charge, and weather or not they are able to move your specialised items (such as piano movers, and car movers, etc).
This will only take a second to complete, and once done you can choose the right trucking company for your needs. Doing this will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.
Alternatively, to make things a little easier you can find some of these lists on the internet. Be sure that they are up to date and have the correct information.
If you need a trucking company for something other than moving house you may need to add some extra columns to your list.
This may sound like a very simple and obvious process but I can guarantee you that 9 out of 10 people don’t do it. In addition, it is very likely that those 9 people will be paying to much for their trucking needs and will not get the specialised service that they require.
